Old Fashion Ginger Bread 1 2/3 cup cake flour 1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon Korintje Cinnamon Powder 3/4 teaspoon Ginger Powder 1/2 teaspoon Ground Jamaican Allspice 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg 1/2 cup light molasses 1/2 cup buttermilk Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350° 2. Combine flour through allspice in a bowl and stir well. 3. Cream butter until smooth, add sugar and egg and beat until light and fluffy. 4. Add molasses and beat on high two additional minutes. 5. Add flour and buttermilk mixture alternately in three batches beginning and ending with flour and beating well after each addition. 6. Turn batter into 8 or 9 inch square pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes. 7. Cool in pan for 5 minutes and then I invert bread to remove from pan. 8. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or applesauce. |
