Brewpub Garlic Fries Seasoning
Our Brewpub Garlic Fries Seasoning, with the pungent aroma and flavor of garlic at the front of this blend, is a compendium of kitchen aromatics and a shortcut to great-tasting food. Blended with garlic, onion, salt, and white pepper, this blend is sleek and savory. The garlic comes forward first, and then this blend presents a balanced showcase of salt and onion, kept in line by the clean, straightforward burn of white pepper. This seasoning blend is mixed in small batches in our facility, to protect the flavor and freshness in our products.
Thomas Jefferson is believed to have introduced the French fry to America. He first tried them when he was the American Minister to France during the late 1780s. James Heming, brother of Jefferson’s mistress Sally, was trained as a chef during their stay in France, and he entered a great many recipes into Jefferson’s personal collection. About 150 of them survive. Jefferson's cookbooks contain what would later become American favorites like macaroni and cheese, vanilla ice cream and pommes de terre frites à cru en petites tranches, which translates to "potatoes deep-fried while raw, in small cuttings". Mary Randolph, Thomas Jefferson’s cousin, indicates in her cookbook The Virginia House-Wife (1824) that the fries were not cut into sticks but rather, cut “in shavings round and round, as you would peel a lemon”.
Tips From Our Kitchen
The Brewpub Garlic Fries Seasoning is a blend of classic kitchen staples and is not just for French fries! Add a salty, savory boost to a myriad of foods. Roll into meatballs or meatloaf. Season your fajitas, and use as a flavor base for stir fries. Use to season your choice of meat—it will go wonderfully on chicken, pork, beef, venison, turkey, quail, elk… Mix into seitan and make vegetarian sausage. Toss over roasted vegetables fresh out of the oven; brassicas like cabbage and Brussels sprouts love garlic and onion flavors. Add to steamed green beans tossed in butter. Mix into mashed potatoes or riced cauliflower. Sprinkle over pizza, or add an extra, aromatic boost to your favorite marinara sauce.
