Cajun Turkey Rub

Are your tired of the same old turkey and stuffing recipe you've been having for years and years? Are you wishing for something with a more more modern and unexpected flavor explosion? Well this Cajun Turkey rub will knock your socks off.
Since this is a rub you'll want to use your hands as your thoroughly rub the prepared turkey seasoning on the skin of the bird and especially work it in under the skin around the breast. Be sure that you carefully replace any skin that gets disturbed during this process.
Now when it comes to cooking your Cajun bird you don't have to fry it (one of the more common methods of preparing a Cajun style turkey).
Baking your turkey doesn't have to be difficult if you plan ahead. Your turkey can still turn out moist and delicious when properly seasoned with a delightful turkey rub and baked it an oven bag. It's so simple that even novice cooks can handle this process.
But where this Cajun turkey rub really shines is when used for grilling our bird by using the Spatchcocked method. This style means that you "butterfly" your turkey. You cut and remove the backbone out of the turkey so you can open it up and press it flat. The day before you're going to follow the same turkey rubbing routine and then refrigerated it overnight.
We like to butterfly our bird the morning we are going to cook and then put it on the grill with just a touch of smoke (your choice of wood but we prefer apple or hickory). We'll also use a turkey mop with our Cajun Turkey Rub, some apple cider vinegar and some olive oil. Not only will this be a healthy to eat bird but it'll be loaded with flavor, juicy and well unexpected.
Our Cajun Turkey Rub is hand blended from domestic paprika, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, Mexican oregano and thyme.
