Garlic and Herb Seasoning
Our salt-free Garlic and Herb Seasoning delivers a little bit of crunch with a whole lot of flavor. This popular no-salt seasoning blend combines the smooth, savory nuttiness of sesame seeds with the pungent aromatics of roasted garlic, and the spiky bite of black pepper. There’s a bright citrus lift from dried lemon peel and a mellow finish with delicate, oniony chives. This harmoniously fragrant blend is blended by hand, on site, in small batches. We do this to ensure that our product is as fresh as possible when we send it out to our customers.
Salt is an essential mineral, required to keep the human body functioning properly, but it’s also a great example of “too much of a good thing”. When consumed in excess, salt can interfere with the way your body regulates water in cells and blood vessels, causing extra burdens on blood vessels, kidneys, and your heart. Because it enhances flavors so beautifully and is fairly cheap, it’s used in all manner of packaged foods, from the expected, like lunch meats and cheeses, to the unexpected—ice cream and hot chocolate. Many of our customers who are on a low sodium diet love the versatility of this seasoning and they tell us that they keep a shaker of it on the dining room table where the salt shaker used to sit!
Tips From Our Kitchen
Use our salt-free Garlic and Herb Seasoning to sprinkle across the top of focaccia bread. Add it to mushroom stuffings and stir fries. Toss in with green salads or lunch salads, like chicken or potato salad. Shake on buttered or steamed vegetables; it goes particularly well on green beans and potatoes. Toss over roasted tofu. Mix with breading for chicken, and use as a garnish for a pasta primavera in olive oil. You will also find it a great way to spice up your burgers, salads, pizza and pasta as well.
