Mojito Lime Seasoning

Mojito Lime Seasoning
Mojito Lime Seasoning (pronounced "mow-hee-tow"), is also called mojito seasoning, mojito lime marinade, or lime mojito seasoning.
What Is Mojito Lime Seasoning
Brisk and fruity with lime and tangerine, this salt-free Mojito Lime Seasoning fuses fruity and savory flavors for a summer-bright seasoning blend that’s good all year ‘round.
Mojito Lime Seasoning is a dynamic blend with complex flavors that are sure to remind you of the drink at first taste. Though this seasoning blend was not designed to season a mojito, it certainly pairs well food you can serve with the iconic drink. Try it on seafood like cod, scallops, and shrimp. The refreshing flavor of this blend also goes well with chicken, pork, and on a variety of sweeter vegetables, as well as some fruits!
The Story Behind Mojito Lime Seasoning
The mojito is a tropical mixed drink, made of rum, lime, spearmint, simple syrup, and a shot of sparkling water that gives this already refreshing drink extra zing. There are at least four competing myths vying to be distinguished as the origin of the mojito, but this is one of the most-served drinks in the world and its murky origins are resigned to myth. What’s certain is the mojito began its rise in relatively modern popularity when the Bacardi company began operations in Cuba in 1862. By Prohibition, the mojito had become a standard drink through Havana, when the Americans who could afford it frequented Cuba during that time, when they wanted nightlife and a fruity, fresh cocktail.
Our in-house chef was inspired by the classic flavors of a mojito and absolutely ran with that. What would taste good with that minty, tart flavor of a true mojito? Seafood comes to mind, but how could we get something a little more complex, a little deeper in flavor so it could encompass more food groups and taste just as mouthwatering every time? A generous amount of garlic, some black pepper, and oregano were sure to add that complex character to the blend! So, it wasn’t long before our first test batch of Mojito Lime Seasoning was crafted and ready for taste testing (and our staff loves taste testing days). After a few test batches, which included several tweaks and of course more staff taste testing, this blend was perfected and is ready now to be used seasoning your favorite seafood, chicken, pork, or vegetable dishes. It’s even delicious on fruits like watermelon or peaches, and eating seasoned fruit is an underrated luxury.

How to Use Mojito Lime Seasoning
Despite the name, our Mojito Lime Seasoning is NOT made to mix into a mojito. It has too many savory elements for this cocktail, though this seasoning blend was inspired by the alcoholic drink. Salt-free Mojito Lime Seasoning works beautifully with foods like green beans or tomatoes, tossed over them when they’re fresh off the grill or just out of the oven. Try this blend on white fish like fluke or haddock, or over grilled shrimp. If you don’t want to marinate your food this would also be a great all-purpose vinaigrette. The citrus in this blend can also cut through the flavors on oily fish, so try it tossed on tuna, trout, or on Grilled Salmon Tacos. It’s also delicious stirred into a pot of rice fresh off the heat. Add to your choice of fruit salsa for a sweet and savory condiment.
