Roasted Garlic Pepper
Salt-free Roasted Garlic Pepper seasoning blend has one mission, and one mission alone: To deliver terrific flavor, easily. This blend has a relatively gentle aroma, with the citrus top notes from the black pepper mingling with sweet onion and the mellow perfume of roasted garlic. The flavor is garlic forward, rich and pungent, with onion standing right behind it and pushing it forward like a good team player. The pine-laden heat of black pepper provides depth, while the uncompromised burn of white pepper cuts straight down the middle, creating a no-nonsense blend with a heat that lingers. We blend our Roasted Garlic Pepper seasoning in-house in small batches, which allows us to provide our customers with the freshest and most flavorful product possible.
Garlic has been in use for at least 5,000 years, both as a way to enhance food and in the treatment of various ailments. It’s been used as a remedy against snakebites, as a cure for skin diseases, to treat tuberculosis, as a digestive aid, and as a way to keep the humours of the body moving smoothly, including the blood. Modern research does show that garlic contains chemical compounds that can help manage cholesterol and blood sugar, but in 1897, when Bram Stoker wrote the novel Dracula, that research didn’t exist. It seems that Bram Stoker leaned heavily on the centuries of folk stories that spoke to garlic’s myriad benefits when thinking of ways to repel the advances of the merciless and bloodthirsty Count Dracula.
