Organic Chile Lime Fruit Seasoning

In general, chile and lime flavors are so crucial to Mexican cuisine that most fruits and vegetables are thought to be essentially naked without the touch of this particularly delicious trio. Add salt, and it's a trifecta of perfect flavors. If the brightness of a squeeze of lemon or lime juice is enough to make fruits and vegetables taste exceptionally delicious, the addition of chile and salt makes for a singularly unique eating experience, one Mexicans have come to recognize as necessary for nearly all snacks made up of fruits or vegetables. We wanted to develop an organic version of this seasoning for our customers who are on the lookout to try new things but prefer to shop organics. As we continue to increase our inventory of organic products, we will also continue to develop new blends to showcase this inventory and offer you the best spices on the market.

The Story of Our Organic Chile Lime Fruit Seasoning

Our Organic Chile Lime Fruit Seasoning was dreamed up to be totally differently from our conventional version of Chili Lime Seasoning. We wanted something a little punchier, but not necessarily spicier. We thought bringing out more of the lime flavors would help our case, so we spent some time pinpointing exactly the right ratios of chile and lime to give us the right kind of zing for this seasoning. We decided on using sea salt one because it's more authentic to the original Mexican blend and two because has more texture than a regular table salt, making for a more interesting texture overall in the blend. As an added element then, the mouthfeel of the salt half dissolving on the fruit and then dissolving the rest of the way in your mouth gives a burst of saltiness to perfectly enhance the sweetness of any fruit and complement the tanginess of the rest of the ingredients in the blend.

This is one of our only blends that has an organic version that is notably different from the conventional version and that's intentional! Both are good at what they do but have different strengths to them. This one was specifically made with fruit in mind, while you may find the conventional version better suited for dry rubs on meat.

What's in it?

Our Organic Chile Lime Fruit Seasoning is hand blended from lime juice powder, Anaheim chile, red bell pepper, and sea salt.

Flavor Profile

This blend has a predominantly lime flavor, but it is also slightly salty and has a decent amount of chile flavor to it.

Where to Use

This is a blend designed with fruit in mind. We love it on peaches, plums, coconut, pineapple, mangoes or even watermelon. It's particularly wonderful with the stone fruits but when using a light hand can taste good on sweeter berries or on bananas. Aside from fruit you can use it on toast and spreads, like toast with cream cheese or avocado toast. We like it on cheese and fruit compote snacks. Try it on vegetables too, as it is lovely on cucumber, jicama, carrots, green beans, or corn on the cob.

It can also make for an interesting flavor on fish and other seafood, like shrimp or scallops. Use it as a dry rub on chicken or add to ground beef for tacos. It can also be used to rim margarita glasses in place of plain salt. Sprinkle some into your Bloody Mary or add a pinch to your favorite mimosa. Our Organic Chile Lime Fruit Seasoning tastes amazing with fruity flavors, but it can work well in some savory applications as well. Just experiment and see what you like! To make the flavors of this blend stand out even more intensely, add a splash of fresh lime juice to your recipe as well!

Helpful Hints

This blend is very intensely flavorful. Try a little at first and then add more as you go in small amounts, as the flavor can quickly become overwhelming!

Not potent I tried it as a chicken rub thinking it would be good for Chile lime chicken. Everything sort of melted off and didn’t absorb at all.

Not my favorite Based on the picture I expected this to be a coarse grind. It's not it's a fine grind. I don't care for the flavor and definitely not for the texture. Love their Greek seasoning though

Chili Lime Sublime! We are trying not to use this on or in everything. It's hard. From salad dressings to sauté and beyond. Love this one.
