Citrus Ginger Stir Fry
Citrus Ginger Stir Fry Seasoning was created with stir fry in mind, but this exceptionally unique blend has a little something for everyone. The nuanced flavors are perfect for use in vegetable heavy dishes, where the varying flavors of the blend either work to enhance the taste of the vegetables or work to dull the flavors of others, and in doing so create a perfectly balanced dish. It can also work in meat-heavy dishes as well, since the bright flavors work to bring forth the brilliant flavors in the meat and mute the bitterness you might taste there otherwise. The lovely little kick of heat from the ginger is perfectly complemented by the cayenne you will find in the blend, though it's not overtly hot!
The Story of Our Citrus Ginger Stir Fry Seasoning
Citrus and Ginger are flavors that go hand in hand. Citrus is fruity and vibrant while ginger is sweet and spicy. When combined with the earthy, vegetal flavors of a good stir fry, this blend helps create a symphony of tastes that simply makes sense.
We've been obsessed with citrus flavors recently. Who knows, maybe it's because the seasons have begun to change and we are clinging to that citrusy tang of summer sunshine, or maybe it's just because we simply love citrus. Ginger too, for its incredible warmth and the way it brings a certain spiciness to the plate. No matter what the cause, we are very excited to be able to bring to you this delicious Citrus Ginger Stir Fry Seasoning.
What's in it?
Our Citrus Ginger Stir Fry Seasoning is hand blended from demerara sugar, ginger, sea salt, soy sauce, lime, sesame, vinegar, citric acid, garlic, onion, red pepper, cayenne and chives.
Flavor Profile
The flavor of our Citrus Ginger Stir Fry Seasoning is sweet, salty, and a little savory. There is a kick from the red pepper flakes and cayenne, and the ginger flavor is pronounced. The blend has a slight tartness to it as well from the lime juice powder, vinegar, and citric acid.
Where to Use
This blend is made to taste great on all kinds of stir fry dishes, but it's also good on chicken, beef, and seafood as well. It's great on shrimp and scallops. Depending on what food you use it on, the different elements of this blend are either heightened or quieted to suit the dish. It's truly a seasoning blend made for just about everything.
Try it on squash and stir a spoonful into pumpkin soup. The flavor of this blend compliments vegetables and gourds alike quite well, so it works in chunky soups and is the perfect blend for the comfort foods of the fall. We like it on bean soups, on trays of hearty roasted vegetables, especially yams or broccoli, and on jackfruit.
For a simple dinner for two, start off by preparing aromatics like onions or garlic in a fat of some sort, like olive oil or butter in medium high heat. Prepare 8oz of linguine to the point of being al dente in perfectly salted water, then drain water, reserving about a cup of the pasta water. While the pasta is cooking, add some of your favorite shrimp and 4oz of cream cheese to the aromatics. Toss the al dente pasta in the shrimp fry and add a little of the reserved water carefully. Let this reduce for a few minutes, adding more water if you want the sauce to thin out a bit, then turn off the heat. Add about a teaspoon of this seasoning and toss, ensuring that you've incorporated all of the ingredients so they are equally homogeneous.
Helpful Hints
This is a powerful blend. Add only a small amount and taste as you go! You wouldn't want to accidentally over season your food, since it would be very hard to cancel out the strong flavors of this blend with any other flavor. You can always put more of the blend in but you can't take any of it out!
