Mojito Lime Seasoning
Mojito Lime Seasoning is a dynamic blend with complex flavors that are sure to remind you of the drink at first taste. Though this seasoning blend was not designed to season a mojito, it certainly pairs well food you can serve with the iconic drink, a favorite of the author Ernest Hemingway. Try it on seafood like cod, scallops, and shrimp. The refreshing flavor of this blend goes well with chicken, pork, seafood, on a variety of sweeter vegetables, as well as some fruits!
The Story of Our Mojito Lime Seasoning
Our in-house chef was inspired by the classic flavors of a mojito and absolutely ran with that. What would taste good with that minty, tart flavor of a true mojito? Seafood comes to mind, but how could we get something a little more complex, a little deeper in flavor so it could encompass more food groups and taste just as mouthwatering every time? A generous amount of garlic, some black pepper, and oregano are sure to add that complex character to the blend! So, it wasn’t long before our Mojito Lime Seasoning was crafted and ready for testing. After a few batches, this blend was perfected and is ready now to be eaten all over your favorite seafood, chicken, or vegetable dishes. It’s even delicious on fruits like watermelon or peaches, and eating seasoned fruit is an underrated luxury.
What’s in it?
Our Mojito Lime Seasoning is blended from garlic, organic lime juice powder, citric acid, spearmint, cayenne, onion, black pepper, basil, and Mexican oregano.
Flavor Profile of Mojito Lime Seasoning
Mojito Lime Seasoning has a bold, citrusy tartness with a refreshing mint flavor and some natural sweetness. There are also some garlicky and herbaceous undertones.
Where Can I Use Mojito Lime Seasoning?
Despite its name being “Mojito Lime,” and the underratedness that is drink seasonings, this blend was not in fact designed for mojitos. Instead it works beautifully with foods like green beans, tomatoes, broccoli, mushrooms, rice, quinoa, barley, cucumber, watermelon, and pastas.
Mojito Lime Seasoning is a perfect seasoning for seafood, as the bright citrus and minty flavors go beautifully with fresh seafood flavors. Try it on white fish and shrimp. It may be appealing to you on fattier fishes as well, as the citrus cuts through the richer flavor of the fish.
Try it on pork chops and pork roasts. You can even sprinkle it over salads to add a bit of brightness to your favorite greens. This makes for a great steak seasoning as well. Serve with a side of mango, watermelon, peach, or a salad of all three for an exceptionally tasty dinner.
To make a marinade for meat, mix 3 tablespoons of Mojito Lime with 2 tablespoons of water, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, and a quarter cup of oil. This will cover two pounds of meat nicely. For a seafood marinade, keep the amount of liquid the same but reduce the amount of mix to 2 tablespoons instead, as the flavor can seem overwhelming on seafood that doesn’t have very strong base flavors.
Our favorite recipe using this seasoning blend is the Cuban Sandwich.
