Salt Free Soup Seasoning
Can you think of anyone who doesn't at least like one kind of soup? Everyone likes at least one, even if it is just the classic chicken noodle. Soup is one of those foods that can be made year-round for a variety of reasons, from the illnesses that hang out during the winter to those lazy, cool summer nights where you want something warm to fill you up.Our Salt Free Soup Seasoning was created with the soup loving crowd in mind and we are sure you will enjoy using it with everything from soups to chicken.
The Story of Salt Free Soup Seasoning
Salt Free seasonings are important to us. We enjoy foods with a lot of flavor, and we especially love soup. Soup is easily one of the saltiest foods you can buy premade. A single can of condensed soup often has more than double the recommended sodium levels for a day. This much sodium puts a lot of strain on the body, from the kidneys to the heart. Every once in a while, this is okay. With repeated offences however, the body becomes weaker and unable to handle this amount of sodium. Doctors link this to high blood pressure and other problems with the body. It is better to preventatively take care of your body and cut excess sodium from your diet than to wait until you are required to do so for medical reasons. Don't let the salt-free status make you think that there is no flavor to this blend, or that you won't be able to use it. Salt-free diets can be every bit as flavorful and satisfying as those laden with sodium.Making your own soup can be a wonderful way to have something healthy and full of flavor without feeling too heavy or compromising your heart health. While we were testing out this blend, Jeff made some turkey noodle soup to see what amount of seasoning would work the best with what amount of soup. The consensus was that one tablespoon of seasoning for every 40 oz of soup was the perfect amount. Two tablespoons were a little too overwhelming, and anything less than one didn't bring out any extra flavor.
What's In It?

Our Salt Free Soup Seasoning is herby with slightly floral aroma with a piney, smoky flavor and hints of hay-like, grass with mild bitter and lemony undertones.Where to Use
Use with soups, of course! This is an excellent blend for poultry-based soups. The herbal and lemon flavors are wonderful for lightening the whole meal, as well as bringing out flavor without bogging down the flavors of the meats. Soups made with root vegetables taste excellent with this blend as well. This blend would also taste great with meats, particularly chicken. Fish is complemented nicely by blends with an herbal base, and this goes especially for white fish like cod or haddock.
