This was a completely new spice experience. I bought it because it was required for a recipe. But I have gone on to experiment with its taste.
For instance, say you want to make a dumb Knorr recipe rather than thinking about real cooking. Try adding the sumac berry to one of these Knorr packages as it cooks: it eliminates the sickly sweet fake taste of the recipe. It's a very useful spice. Explore. It makes cooking fun.

Sumac
It makes a great "lemon pepper" style seasoning for fish and veggies. I Americanized this by mixing it with the Bourbon Smoked Pepper and it tastes great!
