Cardamom seeds in Swedish bread
The cardamom seeds were fresh and flavorful. I use them when making my grandmother’s Swedish coffee bread and sweet rolls. When they are freshly crushed, the flavor pops in the bread. The seeds also hold their flavor longer than ground cardamom. If stored in freezer they last a long time, a year or two.

I think buying the seeds and grinding them myself provides a much more robust flavor. I have never tried grind the entire pod, as suggested in some recipes but am satisfied enough with the seeds that I will continue grinding them.
