The spice that brought me to Spices, Inc.!
I've spent the past several months refreshing my whole spice pantry (of about 150 herbs, spices, and blends). I was having trouble finding amchur in a small amount. After a quick Google search, I discovered Spices, Inc., whom I'd never hear of. I'm so glad that I found them and that I bought this amchur! Because of the moisture and sugar content of mangoes, it will clump over time. The product I received from Spices, Inc. was nice and powdery, indicating that it's very fresh. Yes, you can substitute lemon or lime juice for this product. But the taste won't be the same. If you do a lot of Indian cooking, definitely invest in a jar of this amchur to achieve a more authentic taste in your dishes.

I am in the process of converting several hot sauce recipes to powder formulations. One of the sauces is a Caribbean style Scotch Bonnet, Mango and Mustard sauce. The amchur was a very good substitute for the mango, but it was a bit lumpy and had to be pre-sieved before use. Additionally, it was not too sweet, so some granulated honey made up the balance for the sweetness. I will definately be using it again.

SPICE HARRASSMENT
STOP EMAILING ME GEEZ!!! 2-3 every week for a review? You're spices are acceptable at best, similar to other companies of this sort out there. None had particularly good quality spices, we produce quote a bit but can't keep up with demand and were hoping to find a reasonable supply, the quality and flavor is 50% of ours at best so we just can't market it.
