But after extensive testing I could not get rid of a kind of wierd aftertaste that showed me clearly that it is obviously an inferior grade dressed up as better, but in fact, much, much worse. The seller clearly has been hoodwinked by the farmers as too what has been doctored to this product, I am guessing, but I would say it has been mixed with tumeric powder.

Saffron in Persian
Since your saffron comes from Iran it would be nice if you could mention in your History of Saffron that saffron is called zar-parân in Persian *زرپران . (Zar: Gold, Paran: Leaves).
