Has a much more complex and interesting flavor. Not nearly as hot as red pepper flakes so you use a few times as much, but the flavor is more evenly distributed.

A lot of flavor with just enough gentle heat to make it spicy but not overwhelming
A new favorite for a cook that selects chiles for flavor over heat. I favor chiles with low heat levels and distinct flavor profiles, such as pasilla and chimayo mild. Such chiles let me use much higher amounts to add lots of unique flavors without creating heat levels that hurt. My first thought for Aleppo chile is the flavor base for an asian style noodle dressing with Alleppo chile, white balsamic vinegar, some Tamari soy sauce, and a touch of toasted sesame oil.
Aleppo chile has a fruity full flavor with just a bit of gentle heat at the back of the tongue and down the throat (the type of heat that most people find pleasant and warming. Delicious and distinctive!

Goes with everything
This stuff is delicious. It is so flavorful and is probably my go to topping for anything I would normally put sriracha sauce on. Excellent stuff, get you some.

My Sister -in-law said it was the best thing they brought from Turkey. She made a soup here and put some in.
I couldn't believe how it made the flavor just come to life.
I bought some for myself and a pack for my son. I have ordered 3 times and 2 of those you sent a small pack of
another kind which I gave my son. I am 91, widower and
live alone, he grills more than I do. I also gave 6 others
in the family. Interesting that 2 of those families have

Aleppo Pepper-nice!
I've sprinkled it on sliced cucumbers & tomatoes and on bread (with mayonnaise). I've very much enjoyed the flavor. I was really anxious to try it based on the discussion by Spice, Inc. The heat is about right such that if I over season and use a bit too much (quantity) it's still OK. When a recipe calls for red pepper flakes this is what I use. I'll be buying more in the future.
