A bit of heaven. We ordered Chinese Five Spice because we need to cut salt from our diets. Of all the spice combos we have tried, Chinese Five Spice is the best. We have used it on chicken, pork, fish and a baked mixed vegetable dish, all with fantastic results. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a different and delicious change from the ordinary.

5 Spice Powder? More like Clove powder I have purchased this item in the past and been very happy with it. Thus I was very disappointed when I opened the latest shipment and could smell only cloves, no star anise, no fennel, no cinnamon and certainly no Sichuan peppercorns. I added an equal amount of these four spices but the overwhelming smell and taste is cloves. It is completely different from what I received last year. If you don't like cloves don't buy this. You would be better off making your own. Truly disappointing. A whole batch of char siu essentially ruined.

Chinese Five Spice I don't know if I got a bad batch or something, but I followed a recipe fromt this website for chicken stirfry that called for 3 tablespoons in 3 lbs of chicken and it was simply inedible due to its bitterness. This was so disappointing as the aroma just causes you to close your eyes and enjoy but the taste was repuslive.
