Great for Doro Wat
I wanted an easy way to attempt Doro Wat without buying a ton of spices. This worked perfectly. It is spicy but not over the top. Great complex flavor.

This is Berbere
My husband is Ethiopian, so we’ve tried a few different blends of berbere over past few years. Berbere is my favorite spice blend, using it in several dishes (not just chicken). This version of berbere is flavorful, well blended, and gives my husband a taste of his childhood. A direct quote from my husband: “THIS is berbere.”

Berbere
I downloaded the recipe for Ethiopian Chicken. I used 2 1/2 lbs. of chicken thighs instead of the chicken breasts. So I added just a little more of the other ingredients to compensate. This meal was soooo hot, it made my face turn red and my nose to run. Keep in mind that I cook with a lot of spice and can take a considerable amount of heat. But this Berbere is a little too hot for me. It also has a strong clove profile. I will use the remaining spice I have for another meal, but less of it to see if that helps.
