But i'm a convert! this product is great where applicable. i prefer shallots to onion in both flavor and texture, but quality of fresh shallots in my local markets is usually bad due to age and improper storage. these dried shallots are a blessing. i've ordered more.

Having the freeze dried shallots on hand has been great. I used up my first 8 oz. bag very quickly and ordered 1 lb. bag the next time. I store mine in the olds fashion canning jars with the metal clip and rubber ring to close. 8 oz. fills a quart size jar. From those I do refill my smaller 1 cup jar for handy everyday use as not open the big jars too often. So far I have not been disappointed in this product.

Just okay
I've been ordering shallot flakes from a different company for many years, and decided to try these out because they were less expensive. The picture looks exactly like what I had been buying from the other company. Unfortunately, the picture wasn't entirely accurate. The flakes are smaller and darker colored, and the flavor is a bit less fresh-tasting than the product I was used to. I took a picture of Spices Inc. Shallots next to the ones I had previously, but unfortunately this review platform won't let me attach it.

Great Shallots!
These have excellent flavor and great price for a pantry staple! It is easy to re-hydrated them for any meal! The quality is better than I have seen with any other brands. Great stock prices for 1lb+ highly recommend!

I do love these shallots. I use them weekly in homemade balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing, and they rehydrate well, adding just the right amount of oniony flavor without being overpowering. I buy them by the pound, and they look pretty in a jar on the shelf, bonus!
