Love this pepper!
Not quite as hot as red pepper flakes and better with hints of floral / fruity flavors. Great heated in oil to infuse the flavors for use as a dip or flavoring a dish.

A different note
The Aleppo chile has a significantly different flavor than I'm used to with moderately spicy Western Hemisphere peppers such as guajillo and pasila. varieties. The raisin note really changes things. Aleppo makes great sense with dishes also spiced with coriander or Mediterranean herbal combos, not so much with basic "Mexican" profiles. Or so it seems to me.

Aleppo Pepper
I had been wanting to try this pepper for a while and when I found it on Spices Inc, I purchased a small bag of it. I am very satisfied with the pepper. It has a somewhat sweet/spice flavor and a moderate (for me) Scoville level that makes it go well with just about anything you want to add some heat to without it taking over the flavor of the food itself, it's a good complimenting spice.
