Rich, flexible, fresh, darker than red but not quite brown throughout. Not too dry and not too gooey. Great Ancho chile flavor with raisin undertone. Probably the number one chile for yield in grams per dried chile pod. Can use a lot without contributing too much heat. Sizes, color, and flavor among the bag batch are consistent. A small amount to salsa adds a mellow South-of-the-Border restaurant flavor. Was able to grind in a spice grinder with no stickiness.
