Ancho Chile Powder
Really loved that one!! The 2nd time I ordered it,it came in powder form. By then I'd gotten hooked on the flakes. Am looking forward to more flakes!!

Something changed - this powder is too hot!
The service from SpicesInc has been tremendous. My only issue has been with the heat of this ancho powder. I have a set recipe for the dry rub I make, and the batches made with this ancho powder are much hotter and spicier than in previous years. Something changed in the formulation - I can't use this ancho powder the way I used earlier versions.

Ancho POWDER
Much finer grind than I am used to receiving from other vendors. Much finer grind that is pictured on the website. I ordered one pound and was shocked to see that the volume is about what I am used to for 4 ounces from other vendors. You will have to adjust quantities for all your recipes. Do yourself a favor and order from somebody else.

Brittle Ancho Chiles
Instead of complex flavor, brittle ancho chiles produce a predominantly bitter flavor when they are rehydrated.
The ancho chiles I received from Spices Inc. were dry and brittle. I contacted customer service and they refunded my money, but politely told me the chiles were supposed to be that way.
I don't see the point of shopping where staff is polite but poorly informed .
