Sazon Seasoning (sa-ZON) is a seasoning originally found primarily in Puerto Rican kitchens but can also be used in Mexican and Spanish dishes. This seasoning is salt- and MSG-free. It is also referred to simply as sazon.

Sazon first emerged in Puerto Rico as a way to flavor the beans which make up so much of the local diet. It was eventually incorporated into other types of dishes, like braises, stews, and rice, and helped define Puerto Rican-style cuisine.

Sazon Seasoning is often purchased by seasoning companies, spice shops, Mexican and American restaurants and food trucks and those who manufacturer coffee/tea, sauces and dip mixes.

A mild, smooth flavor that has subtle garlic and onion notes with herby undertones.

How to Use

Sazon seasoning is used to add flavorful spice to many regional dishes, and can be added to beans, grilled meats, chicken, fish, soups, and stews.  Our Chicken Sofrito Stew is a perfect winter, weeknight soup.  Need some new ideas for breakfast?  Give these  Mashed Plantains a try.  Empanadillas make a crispy, delicious appetizer or serve them as an afternoon snack.
