Texas Chicken Rub
Texas Chicken Rub
Texas Chicken Rub, also known as BBQ chicken seasoning, BBQ chicken rub, Texas seasoning and Texas BBQ chicken rub is MSG free and specifically blended for chicken.
Dry spice rubs are rubbed into the meat and use the natural moisture of the meat to hold the rubs to the meat. While we prefer this as a rub on chicken it is also used as a seasoning and can just be sprinkled on the chicken or vegetables for just a bit of flavor.
Texas Chicken Rub is popular with seasoning companies, spice shops, olive oil shops as well as butchers and breweries. Manufacturers of sauces and honey and caterers also frequently use Texas Chicken Rub.
Flavor profile
Texas Chicken Rub is smoky, savory, and pleasantly bitter, with a mild heat.
How to Use
Use one Tablespoon of chicken rub per pound of meat. Sprinkle on the chicken and then rub the spice blend into the meat with your hands, evenly coating both sides. Place it in a resealable refrigerator bag and refrigerate for at least four hours and up to 24 hours before cooking. Texas Chicken Rub would make a great substitute when making Roasted Whole Chicken. Swap in Texas Chicken Rub when making Grilled Turkey Burgers and transform them into BBQ burgers. Use it instead of Nashville Hot Chicken seasoning in Baked Nashville Hot Chicken to make delicious crispy oven baked BBQ chicken.
This rub isn't just for grilling; it can also be used in a BBQ smoker, with a rotisserie or for baking in the oven as well as a garnish for potato salad and deviled eggs. Also try mixing it with flour and coating chicken to cook in an air fryer.
