Pennsylvania Pepper

Pennsylvania Pepper is also called pepper seasoning, pepper spice, or pepper spices.
What Is Seasoned Pepper
Seasoned Pepper is more than just pepper; Pennsylvania Pepper is an aromatic blend of black pepper which brings its steady burn, piney flavor, and citrus-floral top notes, which are held in place by the deep familiar flavors of garlic and onion. Bell peppers provide pops of sweetness in between the savory flavors. This is the most reviewed product that we carry.
There's something almost magical, yet incredibly simple, about a top-quality gourmet seasoned pepper. Just about everybody grew up with those familiar salt and pepper shakers on their tables (while the shape of the shakers would vary from house to house the ingredients inside didn't). We've had both home cooks and some of our wholesale restaurant customers fall head over heels in love with this gourmet pepper blend and have heard from more than a few who've made Pennsylvania Pepper a permanent replacement to the ground pepper and even peppermills on their kitchen and dining room tables.
The Story Behind Pennsylvania Pepper
Pennsylvania Pepper was the second blend that we created from scratch when we started Spices Inc. back in 2008 (the first was our Manzanillo Mexican Seasoning). Prior to starting our business we of course placed orders with many of the companies that we felt would be our competitors and came across a pepper blend that we liked so much that it became the inspiration for us to start experimenting in the test kitchen (which in 2008 was actually our home kitchen as our "facility" was actually just a 10' x 10' bedroom located on the 3rd floor of our house) to create one for us to sell.
Having never been one of those that craves salt (yeah, I know weird) and because of that my taste buds can pick up even the tiniest amount of salt in just about anything. So, when creating this blend, I also selfishly set out to make sure that it was salt free to boot. While we didn't know it at the time this was the start of what would turn out to become our very comprehensive selection of salt free seasonings which is now around 100.
Pennsylvania Pepper has since become one of our signature blends. It is the sample that we send out to first time retail customers, is our most reviewed product and is also one that is most likely to be shared by our customers with close friends and family.
What Does Pennsylvania Pepper Taste Like
The peppery flavor that you would expect, you'll also pick up hints of garlic and even some gentle sweet notes provided by the green and red bell peppers.

How to Use Pennsylvania Pepper
We use Pennsylvania Pepper on everything. It’s great mixed into grilled burgers, and as part of a rub for baked or grilled chicken or fish. Sprinkle some across your scrambled eggs and omelets or add some perk to green salads. Mix into creamy potato or tuna salad. It can stand up to heat so add to just about any vegetable you can think of and roast, grill, or steam them. Use it to add a final pop of flavor to soup before serving.
Some of our favorite recipes using Pennsylvania Pepper are Pickled Red Onions, and Swordfish with Romesco Sauce.
