Pollo Asado Seasoning
Pollo Asado Seasoning
Pollo Asado (POY-yo ah-SA-do) Seasoning is a spicy, earthy seasoning blend. This salt-free, MSG-free seasoning is also called pollo asada, pollo asada blend, asado seasoning, or pollo asado mix.
This Latin American blend can be used by itself as a rub or as the flavoring agent in a citrus marinade. The name pollo asado translates as roasted (or grilled) chicken. Thanks to the ingredients that comprise this dish, it’s likely that pollo asado originated in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, with influences from nearby Caribbean islands.
Earthy, warm Pollo Asado Seasoning is sought after by seasoning companies; Tex-Mex and Mexican restaurants; food manufacturers; and independent spice shops.
Flavor Profile
Pollo Asado Seasoning is earthy, smoky, and pungent, with a clean heat.
How To Use
Use this as the seasoning blend in fall-apart tender Pollo Pibil. It’s a terrific way to season the taco meat in Taco-Stuffed Zucchini. This blend goes well with cheese so you can make terrific, cheesy Chile Rellenos. Add complex flavor to roasted vegetables when you toss this into Roasted Vegetable Enchiladas. Dress up leftovers when you add this to Smothered Roasted Chicken Burritos. It’s also great on steak, so make yourself some Smothered Chile Colorado Burritos. It would also be delicious in a hearty Pozole Rojo, sprinkled over sauteed mushrooms that top a breakfast bowl of Chilaquiles, or on any meats or vegetables that you think need some earthy depth.
