California Minced Onion
When you choose California Minced Onion, you’re choosing powerful flavor and great texture. Minced onion can be rehydrated prior to cooking with a 15-minute soak in hot water if they won’t spend time simmering in some liquid. If the onion will have time to simmer, it can be added directly into the cooking dish. Stir minced onions into the tomato base for tagines or pasta sauce. Add to fish curry. Rehydrate and use in place of fresh onions in a spanakopita appetizer. Minced onions are fantastic for topping chewy breads like bagels, or bagel’s cousin, the bialy.
2 Tablespoons of dehydrated onion = ½ cup chopped fresh onion.
