Organic eaters, get ready to have your minds blown. Our Moroccan vegetable seasoning is so good with all your favorite vegetables that you will wonder where it has been all your life. It works on those yummy vegetables from peas and carrots to sweet potatoes and cauliflower. It even tastes incredible on oven baked French fries. This spice blend was inspired by the Moroccan plate, which offers up a diverse array of spices and a wide variety of ways to use those spices.

The Inspiration for Our Moroccan Vegetable Seasoning

Since this was already a popular choice in our line of conventional blends, we thought it would be perfect to offer an organic option. Organic versions of our favorite spice blends are a necessary addition to our inventory as we continue to expand our organic product selection.

Moroccans have a history rich with colonizers and immigrants who brought with them herbs, spices, and oils that have since become entrenched in the Moroccan diet. Moroccan food is usually marked by the immense amount of spices in it. The culture considers cumin so necessary for all food that a shaker of cumin can be found on every single table where food may be found. A food culture this rich in spices would of course be the perfect candidate for a spice blend inspiration. Moroccan food is often said to be a mix of Arabic, Berber, Mediterranean, and Andalusian cuisines. Some of the most famous dishes are couscous, pastille, tajine and harira.

When in Morocco, you will find dozens of street food vendors. Some say the best are in Fez, while others are adamant that the best are in Marrakech. All the vendors will draw you in with the rich scents emanating from their carts or out of their stalls. Some of these delicious scents and flavors can be recreated with our Organic Moroccan Vegetable Seasoning.

What's in It?

Our Organic Moroccan Vegetable Seasoning is blended with organic cumin, organic paprika, organic coriander, organic cinnamon, organic ginger, organic oregano, organic cayenne, organic Anaheim chile, organic onion, organic cloves, organic ancho, organic garlic, and organic allspice.

Flavor Profile

Our Moroccan Rub has a warm earthiness that comes from the cumin and coriander, a nice touch of heat from the chili powder, and just a little twinge of sweetness from the cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.

Where to Use

Use this vegetable rub in the same manner that you would use a meat rub. You can massage the seasoning into the vegetables, or you could coat your vegetables with olive oil and then sprinkle this seasoning over them. Using the later method may yield better results, depending on your method of cooking the vegetables. You could make a pepper, onion, and mushroom kebab, spread some olive oil and seasoning on it and then grill away. This is a quick, nutritious side dish for any dinner.

You can also wrap up your vegetables in foil after they have been oiled and seasoned and then grill them. This is a good method if you want some especially flavorful vegetables. Take a page out of the Moroccan book and eat your perfectly seasoned vegetables with bread instead of using a fork. The bread will soak up any leftover olive oil and will add to the fullness of the dish.

We think that this seasoning blend does particularly well with root vegetables and tubers such as turnips, potatoes, onions, and celery roots. These will retain more flavor and nutrients if they aren't boiled, so try experimenting with your cooking methods when making them. Since nearly all vegetables can be roasted, that would be a good method to start with! This is certainly a spot on seasoning for roasted vegetables.

You could also use this blend to create some delicious honey roasted cashews with a kick of Moroccan flavor. This recipe requires two teaspoons of Organic Moroccan Vegetable Seasoning, two tablespoons of honey, two tablespoons of brown sugar and just a pinch of salt, if you so desire. Combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan and heat until it is warm. Bake two cups of cashews for about ten minutes, and then drizzle the finished sauce over them, or add them to the sauce pan and stir for a more even coating. After they have been coated, they need to be baked for another thirty minutes and stirred occasionally to ensure even roasting.

If you enjoy pan fried mushrooms, this seasoning blend can be added to the pan when they are nearly finished cooking. This will give them a little extra flavor that you are sure to enjoy and come back to more than once.

One of our favorite recipes using this seasoning is Tomato and Rice Soup.

The best I just purchased my second pound of this. It is so good on sweet potatoes, carrots, squash and more. I've given it as gifts and those people have asked for more. My favorite blend

Organic Moroccan veggie seasonin I used it on broiled fish and what a good flavor. I mix flavors and spices a lot and added some black pepper and a little garlic powder (which I always do on the fish anyway) and this added a good taste to the usual black pepper and garlic. I'd buy it again --- after I run out, which I think will be the situation with this one. I don't think it's just going to be sitting on my shelf unused.

Delicious It's my favorite for making rice vegetable stew. Not a fan of garlic or onions, the Moroccan blend brings on the flavor. Great for stir-fries also.

Perfect Moroccan flavoring I frequently use this with vegetables and salads. As good as the Moroccan spices I normally grind and mix.

A whole new way to eat your vegetables Great taste!! If you like the Mediterranean taste, this is perfect. It is mild, so you can't overdo it. If you want a stronger flavor, you can just add more. Highly recommend it.
