Japanese Curry Powder is a mild, richly flavorful, MSG-free seasoning blend. It is also known as katsu curry seasoning, Japanese curry seasoning, katsu curry spices, and sweet Japanese curry spice.

Curry powder was introduced to Japan by officers of the British Royal Navy who were part of the occupation of India during the late 1860s and 1870s. It is based off of Indian-style curry powders, so it has a turmeric base. It is very mild; the spiciest ingredient in this blend is black pepper.

How To Use

Make Japanese-style Curry Rice with Katsu Chicken for a fragrant, deeply satisfying dish. Japanese Curry Carrots in a Blanket, seasoned with Japanese Curry Powder, is a modern take on pigs in a blanket, but just as fun and shareable. Toss with eggplant and tofu for a fragrant, filling Japanese-style hot pot. Swap in to a Ramen Soup Bowl for a cozy, family-friendly curry dinner. Use it to give an Asian twist to Spinach and Garbanzo Pasta. Or try it mixed into a Vegetable Stir Fry with Poached Egg. This blend will complement a wide variety of stir fries, rice and pasta dishes, vegetables, and dumplings.

Japanese Curry Powder goes well with rice, potatoes, chicken, pork, pickled vegetables, tofu, grilled, sauteed, or fried meats, mango, eggs, noodles, corn, leafy greens, or green beans.
