Organic Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning
Organic Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning
For one brief moment, the cozy caramel flavor of demerara sugar comes through in our Organic Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning. Then the spiky heat of cayenne pepper kicks in and sends this seasoning blend into orbit. An organic version of our popular Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning blend, this fiery mix delivers a blast of cayenne's heat, but doesn't overwhelm. It is warm and inviting thanks to the addition of aromatics like garlic and mustard. Black pepper and paprika round out the peppery flavors, maintaining the piquancy while adding a bit of nuance. We blend Organic Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning in small batches in our facility, so we can send the freshest product possible from our door to yours.
The expression "Revenge is a dish best served cold" sounds formidable, but it falls apart in the face of Nashville hot chicken. Eighty-odd years ago Thornton Prince, a handsome charmer with a wandering eye, returned home after a late night on the town. His girlfriend, waiting at home, decided to give him a literal taste of her anger, and doused his Sunday fried chicken in hot pepper. Though Prince was shocked at first, he loved the chicken and shared the recipe with his friends and family. The spurned girlfriend left, the hot chicken remained, and Prince opened a chicken shack that started a regional trend that's still going strong, eighty years later.
Tips From Our Kitchen
