Never lose your sushi in the dipping sauce again with our Tamari Soy Sauce Powder!

Tamari Soy Sauce Powder is regular tamari sauce, concentrated onto an inert powder. The Japanese version of soy sauce, tamari sauce is thicker, heartier, and boasts a richer soy flavor than its standard-issue Chinese cousin. Tamari sauce is a byproduct of miso fermentation. Hundreds of years ago, Japanese miso masters noticed that during fermentation the beans exude a delicious salty elixir with a complex, umami profile. They called it tamari, which means "that which accumulates". It is comprised only of soy, water, salt, and a fermenting agent. Since it's not cut with wheat during fermentation—like Chinese soy sauce is—tamari sauce is naturally gluten-free and lacks the sweet bite that wheat can impart. The end result is a slightly thicker sauce with a bigger umami punch.

Tips from our Kitchen

Tamari Soy Sauce Powder can be used in a wide variety of ways. It can be reconstituted with water and turned into a dipping sauce or marinade. Toss roasting vegetables like Brussels sprouts and broccoli with Tamari Soy Sauce Powder for an umami punch. Make it your secret ingredient in vinaigrettes; adding a half a teaspoon adds depth without changing the body of the dressing. Sprinkle it on top of homemade crackers, or apply it wherever you'd like on your sushi without watching the rice fall into a bowl of sauce. Or you can use it exactly like tamari sauce; reconstitute it with water to the consistency you prefer and pour it wherever you'd like.

Tamari is on Point!! The flavor was amazing!! I made a Filipino adobo ribs dish with it without using no soy sauce other than the powder and other ingredients.

My new favorite thing! If you love brussel sprouts you will love adding a dose of this powder! Whether you prefer sauteed or roasted, this flavor adds a bang that will make the combo your new favorite thing. Good for anything cruciferous, and thanks for the recipe suggestion--can't wait to try that roasted kale!
