March is here and Spring is just around the corner! It’s time to step outside, shake off the cold, and gather together to embrace fresh flavors.
First up: TACOS. I use capital letters because tacos are some of the best things on Earth. While we can always make room for tacos, the longer days and warmer weather lead to a desire for foods that are easy to eat, share, and enjoy. With Cinco de Mayo just around the corner, we’re watching seasoning blends like Birria Taco Seasoning and Al Pastor Taco Seasoning as interest in them starts to nudge up.
Next: Fruit and savory pairings. Again, with the approach of warmer weather we’re seeing increased interest in lighter, brighter flavors, and fruit and savory pairings encompass the best of both worlds. Chile Lime Seasoning, for example, is great for giving watermelon a bit of chile pepper-enriched depth and brightens up both seafood and steak. There’s been a lot of talk about Tamarind Powder, a tart fruit powder which is great in Pad Thai but can also be used to lighten up chicken wings, roasted vegetables, or grilling favorites like pork loin. Keep an eye on our fruit selections as the summer months approach.
