Our Chili Lime Seasoning is fruity, tart, and aromatic. It is also known as chili lime powder, chili lime seasoning, or chili lime rub.

We first came across this seasoning when looking for a flavor enhancer for fruit. Using chiles, citrus, and salt to do so is a common practice in small Mexican markets. Blending spicy chile and tart lime makes food sharp and a little spiky, in fun contrast to the mellow sweetness inherent in fruit.

Chili Lime Seasoning is popular with independent spice shops; olive oil shops; seasoning companies; bar and grill-style restaurants; Latin American and Mediterranean restaurants; and bitters, syrups, kettle corn, popcorn, and cannabis edible manufacturers.

We also carry Organic Chili Lime Seasoning.

Flavor Profile

Chili Lime Seasoning tastes tart and earthy with a playful, fruity heat.

How to Use

Sprinkle over watermelon, pineapple, cucumber, mango, jicama, or papaya. Give Tropical Mango Salsa or Sweet Cantaloupe Salsa a spicy, citrus boost. Add it to savory foods and put it in this hearty Salsa Soup, or add it to some meat and enjoy a cheesy Chili Lime Steak Quesadilla. You can also use it to give a surprising kick to the New York-style hot dog onions that top our Hot Dogs with Porter Mustard.

This blend adds bold flavor to beef, chicken, pork, seafood, vegetables, ceviche, empanadas, or tamales. It gives unexpected zest to dressings, guacamole, marinades, sauces, chips, and popcorn.

Chili Lime Seasoning I use it when I make grilled shrimp tacos with a creamy lime dressing...not to spicy...a pretty good blend of spices...a little more lime taste would really make this rock..

Decent Tajin Replacement I bought this to see if it would replace Tajin for me. For the most part it, it does. The spices taste fresher (duh) and it has a more rounded flavor. My main complaint is that it lacks the same lime & citric acid pop that I like from Tajin. It exists, but it's not as pronounced as I like. Adding some additional citric acid was an easy fix for the level of sour I wanted. It still lacked some of the lime flavor, though.

Literally stunk up my entire kitchen! The name of the spice is chili lime salt, there was nothing close to anything that resembled chili, lime, or salt. I'll tell you what it did have though, tons of cumin! It was so stinky that at the end of the day we had to throw it out. Don't even think about trying this on your favorite rimmer, it is not even a good dry rub. if this is how spices are put together, this was my first purchase and will more than likely be my last with this company.
