When our salt-free Carolina Reaper Garlic Pepper blend first greets you, it does it with the rich, pine-laden zing of black pepper, with its citrusy top notes enhanced by orange zest. Grounding, savory garlic and onion mingles with the red and green bell pepper, lifted by herbaceous and bitter celery seed and marjoram and the sour tang of Aleppo pepper. There’s a spicy backbone, for sure, but it hangs in the back of the nose. Waiting. Because when you taste it, the flavor of the Carolina Reaper goes front-and-center. Carolina Reaper, with a Scoville range of 1,400,000 - 2,200,000 heat units (SHU), has been verified by Guinness as the hottest pepper in the world and it struts its stuff in this blend. The heat does diminish, a little, allowing the sweeter peppers and the richness of the aromatics to come through. But it lingers; have some dairy nearby. We blend our Carolina Reaper Garlic Pepper in small batches in-house to provide our customers with the freshest and most flavorful blends possible.

Ten years of trial and error, research and experimentation went into the development of the Carolina Reaper chile pepper. This pepper was developed by Ed Currie of Fort Mill, SC, as he went on a personal quest to understand the relationship between lifestyle and health. He wanted to learn more about the potential health benefits of capsaicin, the chemical in peppers that creates heat. While any positive impacts to health are still up for review, what’s certain is that, with 1,400,000 - 2,200,000 SHU, this pepper delivers the most searing heat of all the peppers in the world. It’s been confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records twice—once in 2013, and again in 2017. Jalapeño peppers, for perspective, have a range of 2,500-8,000 SHU.

Tips From Our Kitchen

Spicy food junkies will love our salt-free Carolina Reaper Garlic Pepper on just about everything. Try it mixed into meatloaf or meatballs. Make an extra-spicy Diablo sauce for your shrimp or double down on the heat and add it to the sauce for Buffalo wings. It goes wonderfully with citrus, so mix up a sizzling citrus marinade for unforgettable pork or chicken. Sprinkle it over sweet potatoes for a real sweet-heat kick; we’ve even heard from customers who use this in guacamole.

We recommend that you use caution when you first use this blend. If you're using this as a rub start off with just 1 teaspoon per pound of meat; we usually recommend using 1 tablespoon per pound. You can always add more!

This salt-free blend contains black pepper, garlic, orange, onion, Carolina Reaper chiles, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, Aleppo, celery, and marjoram.

Great pepper blend! We've been using it on scrambled eggs, and I can't wait to try it out thick on a steak. Perfect amount of pepper, not too much garlic. Bring your own salt. : D

As we say down south, As we say down south, just a dab'll do ya'. Great heat but not overwhelming. Adds a nice, warm, "roll" to hamburgers. I tried it in a blackening mix for steak and was really pleased. Steak au poivre with a punch.

Carolina Reaper Garlic Pepper I won't try this as I am not a big fan of super hot, but he said it gives him the kick he enjoys with some extra flavor thrown in as well. He cant eat it all the time because of heartburn but he really enjoys it when he does.

Carolina Reaper Garlic Pepper Then you need this. We use it constantly - but in very small quantities. We've shared it with a few friends and relatives and they all want some. The flavor is great and then you hit a littled tiny dot of the reaper and you can feel it sting on your tongue - and it just accents all the other wonderful flavors. Spices Inc. is great - but this is about the greatest yet. Again - if you like it hot - you need this.
