Jalapeno Powder, Capsicum annuum, is a mild- to medium-heat chile powder that delivers 2,500-8,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Made from dried green jalapenos, it is also called ground jalapeno pepper or dried jalapeno powder.

Jalapeno Powder is versatile and can be used in a wide range of dishes. Because it is relatively mild, it can serve as a unique substitute for black pepper. Jalapeno Powder delivers more heat and punctuates a dish with distinct, bright flavor.

Business who frequently purchase Jalapeno Powder are American, seafood, BBQ, and chili restaurants; delis; bar & grills; butchers; independent spice shops; olive oil shops; seasoning companies; and companies that manufacture sausage, salsa, and edible insects.

We also have Jalapeno Flakes and Organic Green Jalapeno Chile Powder available.

Approximately 3/4 teaspoon of Jalapeno Powder is equal to one fresh, medium-sized jalapeno.

Flavor Profile

Jalapeno Powder has earthy, grassy flavor with a bright, low-to-mid-level heat.

Heat Level

Jalapeno Powder measures 2,500-8,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) and is considered a mild- to medium-heat chile.

How To Use

Use Jalapeno Powder whenever you want to add a little bit of a spicy kick. It’s great in all Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes, like this Texas Lasagna. Give a little heat and light, grassy flavor to Mexican Chicken Chili. Mix into breading to perk up a Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. Sprinkle some over Sweet Potato Skins for a twist on a comfort classic, or make your own sweet-heat dinner by tossing a little spice over Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Jalapeno Powder can be added to chili, cornbread, salsa, sauces, spice blends, casseroles, stews, pork chops, chicken, and taco meat. It makes an excellent finishing spice when sprinkled over eggs,  and popcorn.
