Organic Ground Cloves
Organic Ground Cloves
Organic Ground Cloves,Syzygium aromaticum, are also known as organic bulk ground cloves. Cloves are a pungent spice, delivering a minimum of 10% essential oil by weight.
Cloves are the unopened buds of an Indonesian evergreen tree. The buds turn red right before they open, which is when they are harvested and dried. The word “clove” comes from the Latin clavus, or nail, and European colonizers named them so because of their spiky appearance.
Organic Ground Cloves are popular with seasoning companies; honey, sauce, and baked goods manufacturers; independent spice shops; Mexican and African restaurants; delis; and breweries.
We also have conventional Ground Cloves and Whole Cloves available.
Flavor Profile
Organic Ground Cloves are peppery, woodsy, and intensely warm, with a mild, numbing quality.
How To Use
Organic Ground Cloves are used in popular soups such as red lentil soup and Spicy Pumpkin Soup. Substitute Organic Ground Cloves into Apple Pie Fries or Healthy Carrot Cake Squares. Organic Ground Cloves are delicious in savory or sweet pies and puddings, dessert cakes, candies, or cookies. Add to gravies, cranberry sauce, roasts, applesauce, tea, cider, BBQ sauce, chili, soups, stews, and braises.
