Satay Seasoning is a bold, earthy, MSG-free seasoning blend that is loaded with spice and flavor. It is also known as sate seasoning, satay powder, sate spice, satay spice, satay seasoning mix, satay spice blend, or satay spice rub.

Satay is commonly associated with Thai food, but it’s generally thought that it originated on the island of Java, in Indonesia. This popular street food is comprised of grilled skewers of seasoned and barbecued meat or protein, accompanied by a flavorful sauce. It's usually made with chicken in the US but any kind of protein can become a satay, from beef to shrimp to tofu.

This product is frequently purchased by:

  • seasoning companies;
  • olive oil shops;
  • independent spice shops;
  • Chinese, American, and Mediterranean restaurants;
  • gastropubs; and
  • sauce, snack, dressing, and condiment manufacturers

Flavor Profile

Satay Seasoning is warm, tangy, and earthy, with elements of heat, smoke, and citrus.

How To Use

Use Satay Seasoning to make a satisfyingly savory Satay Chicken on the skewer. Or toss over jumbo shrimp and roll in eggroll wrappers to make Crispy Satay Shrimp Eggrolls. Serve both of these with creamy-crunchy Satay Peanut Sauce to enjoy the full satay experience. You can swap it in to season Spicy Thai Beef Salad, or stir with some sugar to make Smoked Ribs with an Asian twist.

Satay Seasoning is wonderful on chicken, pork, beef, seafood, or tofu. Use it in wraps and roasts, over grilled meats, with vegetables, in marinades, dressings, or in soups and stews.
