Cajun Maple Seasoning
Cajun Maple Seasoning
Cajun Maple Seasoning is an MSG-free, sweet heat seasoning blend. It is also known as maple seasoning, savory maple spice blend, creole maple, dry maple seasoning, or savory maple seasoning.
Originally called Acadians, Cajuns were French immigrants living in the Canadian maritime province of Nova Scotia, then known as Acadia. Once they left Canada and settled in and around Louisiana, their food became known for its bold, spicy characteristics. Blending traditional Cajun seasonings with maple sugar ties this blend back to its Canadian origins in a spicy-sweet way that’s versatile, fun, and packed with flavor.
Cajun Maple Seasoning is popular with:
- independent spice shops;
- olive oil shops;
- seasoning companies;
- American restaurants; and
- catering companies
Flavor Profile
Cajun Maple Seasoning is spicy, sweet, smoky, earthy, and bitter, with an herbaceous finish.
How To Use
Try Cajun Maple Seasoning on grilled snapper or tucked into the breading for fried oysters. Toss over Chicken and Sausage Kebabs. Stir this into thick soups or stews; add a Cajun twist to Spiced Lentils, or try it when making Shrimp and Crabmeat Etouffee. We’ve used Cajun Maple Seasoning to make a stellar Vegetarian Gumbo with Vegan Andouille Meatballs. It’s terrific on green beans and roasted cauliflower, or as the seasoning for blackened tempeh. Replace the original blend in Cajun Grilled Sweet Potatoes with Cajun Maple Seasoning and dig in.
Cajun Maple Seasoning pairs well with fish, shellfish, chicken, apples, sausage, beans, lentils, rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and okra.
