Ground Coriander
Ground Coriander
Ground Coriander, Coriandrum sativum, it is also known as ground coriander, coriander bulk, coriander ground, ground coriander seed, coriander seed powder.
Our coriander seed has a light, feathery texture with a lemony aroma and is ground fresh in-house to protect it against the dissipation of volatile oils. This helps provide you with the most flavorful spice possible. It has a minimum of .3% volatile oil by weight.
Coriander comes from one of the few plants that produces both a spice and an herb. The seed is the spice, coriander, while the leafy herb that’s harvested from this plant is known as cilantro.
Bulk coriander is regularly purchased by American, Mexican and Mediterranean restaurants, seasoning companies, spice shops, breweries, distilleries and companies that manufacture packaged meats, sauces and condiments.
We also have whole Coriander Seeds available.
Flavor Profile
Ground Coriander is warm, nutty and sweet, with hints of citrus.
How To Use
A versatile spice, coriander has a bright, mellow warmth is a perfect way to round out the spiky edges of chile peppers. Add it to rich, chile-spiked Mole Sauce or to the spicy, highly seasoned Vegetable Jalfrezi. Mix some into Albondigas, the Spanish meatball tapas dish, to add brightness to the meat and cheese. Stir into fragrant Spicy Thai Coconut Soup. Offset the deep flavors of Roasted Tomato Salsa with a sprinkle of Ground Coriander. Blend into an herbal pesto and enjoy Flat Iron Steak and Carrots with Parsley Pesto. Liven up a Cornmeal Crust with a healthy dose of coriander. Use in a simple vinaigrette, or make a lime and ginger gremolata with coriander as an Asian-inspired garnish. The grounds in a traditionally made Turkish coffee are even mixed with Ground Coriander! You could also mix with salt and a touch of sugar as a delicious garnish for the rim of a margarita glass.
Coriander goes well with lentils, beans, onions, potatoes, coconut milk, vegetables, fish, pickles, breads, dried fruits, and chile peppers.
