Za'atar Spiced Meatballs
This recipe is easy to make and delicious, which makes it a win/win according to our reckoning. Za'atar Seasoning is a Middle Eastern spice blend commonly used with oil for dipping pita or flatbreads or as a main ingredient in hummus. This pungent seasoning is perfect when you're looking too boost your culinary footprint in the kitchen; its complex flavor enhances chicken, fish, and vegetables.
We served these meatballs over whole wheat couscous to make a quick dinner. Pro tip: Make a double batch! They freeze beautifully and are great to have on hand.

Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground lamb or turkey
- 3 Tablespoons bread crumbs
- 2 Tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon Za'atar Seasoning, divided
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375º F. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil or baker's parchment.
- Put ground lamb or turkey in a medium bowl. Mix thoroughly with bread crumbs and 2 Tablespoons Za'atar Seasoning.
- Make 10 golf ball sized meatballs. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium/high heat
- Place meatballs in a skillet and brown each side of the meatballs, for 2 minutes per side.
- Place meatballs on baking sheets and sprinkle with remaining teaspoon Za'atar Seasoning.
- Bake for 6 minutes.
- Serve over couscous, rice, or cauliflower rice.
