Falafel Seasoning is a punchy, aromatic, MSG-free seasoning blend. It is also referred to as falafel seasoning mix, traditional falafel seasoning, falafel spice mix, or falafel spices.

Falafel is a common food eaten throughout northern Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. Falafels are deep-fried patty-shaped fritters or balls typically made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or some combination of both. They’re often topped with the ground sesame sauce called tahini and served in a wrap or as an appetizer.

Falafel Seasoning is popular with:

  • seasoning companies;
  • independent spice shops;
  • butchers;
  • snack, marinade, and bloody Mary mix manufacturers;
  • food trucks; and
  • Middle Eastern restaurants

Flavor Profile

Falafel Seasoning is warm and earthy, with pops of heat and notes of herbs and citrus.

How To Use

Falafel Seasoning blend was created to be enjoyed in Falafel, so make these crispy chickpea patties as individual appetizers to dip, or put them into a pita and enjoy a Falafel Sandwich. This blend is a delicious option to sprinkle over Homemade Hummus that’s topped with pomegranate seeds. Toss with bread crumbs for a savory coating when making Falafel Halloumi Fries, a Mediterranean-inspired cheese snack. Add to the flavor base for lentil soup or shell some fava beans and stir this into the sauté. Swap this in for Za’atar when making Spatchcocked Chicken.

Falafel Seasoning is delicious with chickpeas, beans, legumes, cheese, and chicken. It also pairs beautifully with eggplant, asparagus, cauliflower, couscous, lemon, yogurt, sumac, lamb, and fish or shellfish.

Nothing like homemade falafels I normally buy a box of falafel mix at the store, accepting some of the ingredients. But making these homemade falafel‘s , using the recipe on your site, was a real treat. The taste and consistency were very good. I fried half of the falafels and baked the other half. Either way works. I recommend this spice mix.

If you make your own Falafal at home. It's the best I've tried. It reminds me of what my Grandfather use to make in taste. I highly recommend it. I also put it on Pita Bread with a little butter and toast it in the oven. I have also sprinkled some on Couscous. Try it I think you'll like it.
