Herbaceous and bursting with citrus, our Green Goddess Seasoning is a great way to enjoy the bright taste of summer, any time of year. It is also called green goddess seasoning blend, green goddess blend, or green goddess dressing blend.

Green Goddess salad dressing was first developed in the kitchens of the Palace Hotel in San Francisco in 1923. It was made in honor of the actor George Carliss, who was staying at the hotel during his time acting in a play called—of course—Green Goddess. Its original recipe was much more heavy on ingredients like mayonnaise, sour cream, and oil, but as the recipe evolved it became lighter, brighter, and more focused on fresher flavors like herbs and lemon.

This seasoning blend is appropriate for prepackaged condiment manufacturers; Mediterranean, seafood, vegetarian, and California-cuisine restaurants; independent spice shops; and olive oil shops.

Flavor Profile

Green Goddess Seasoning is crisp, savory, and fruity, with a bright, citrus flavor, notes of pepper, and a fragrant mix of herbs.

How To Use

Green Goddess Seasoning makes a terrific Green Goddess Salad Dressing, which you can use as-is or thin out and drizzle over steamed or Grilled Asparagus or use to toss over a classic potato salad. This blend has an affinity for vegetables so use it to season Savory Spinach and Mushroom Crepes, stir into your favorite gazpacho recipe, or add a teaspoon to Zucchini Ravioli. Blend into hollandaise sauce. Its fruity nature will come through in Spinach and Garbanzo Pasta. It can bring summery flavor to Aromatic Herbed Chicken and make a terrific Parmesan-Crusted Haddock

VERY versatile Can't wait to try this in more dishes. Great fresh flavour, which we much enjoyed in the buttermilk base of the sample recipe.

Great Spice Pros: The spice is terrific and tasted better than expected. What got me excited about it was the small sample pkg that was included in my previous order. Cons: The recipe to use Green Goddess Spice on the website leaves a lot to be desired. It is hard to follow and really doesn't turn out very good. I ended up starting over with a recipe that I found online and it was much better. I think the recipe on this website needs to be renewed and made more user friendly.

Green Goddess So far the family gives it an OK rating but don't buy again. We will try another recipe with it.

Tarragon kicked up a notch I really like this on a fried egg and in a honey mustard salad dressing, or sprinkled on a green salad. A sprinkle or 2 over an apricot jam toast adds a nice flavor. I suspect anything one would use tarragon for this could easily be substituted.
