Organic Cardamom Seeds
Organic Cardamom Seeds
Organic Cardamom Seeds, Elettaria cardamomum, are also known as organic cardamom seed or organic decorticated cardamom.
Cardamom is a firm, unripe dry fruit that contains about a dozen small, black-brown triangular seeds. When dried, the fruit looks like a papery pod, and while the pod carries some flavor it is fibrous and difficult to eat. Most often, recipes call for the whole or ground seeds rather than the full pod. It is often referred to as the "queen of spices"—black pepper is the king—and is considered the world's third most expensive spice behind saffron and vanilla.
Organic Cardamom Seeds are popular with manufacturers of coffee, tea, chai, chocolate, and pastries; and Middle Eastern restaurants.
We also carry Organic Ground Cardamom, and conventional Cardamom Seeds, Ground Cardamom, and Cardamom Pods.
Flavor Profile
Organic Cardamom Seeds have a complex flavor that combines citrus and mint with floral and eucalyptus notes, and a touch of pepper.
How To Use
