Ajika Seasoning
Ajika Seasoning
Ajika Seasoning, also known as ajika, ajika spice, ajika Georgian seasoning blend, ajika Georgian seasoning, adjika, or adjika powder, is an MSG-free seasoning blend that originated in the Caucasus Mountains.
Ajika can be found in multiple forms. It’s commonly eaten as a chunky, spicy salsa. It can also be found as a thick pepper paste. Our Ajika Seasoning is a shelf-stable dry blend, which provides rich flavor for whichever form of ajika you eventually choose to enjoy.
Ajika Seasoning is frequently purchased by grocery stores; seasoning companies; specialty shops; subscription, sauce, and marinade manufacturers; Middle Eastern restaurants; and caterers.
Flavor Profile
Ajika Seasoning is well-rounded, floral, pleasantly bitter, and garlicky, with sweet-and-spicy peppers.
How To Use
Use Ajika Seasoning on Shkmeruli, chicken that’s been pressed over high heat to mahogany brownness and then roasted and served in a milk and garlic sauce. Dust over khachapuri, a beautiful, boat-shaped Georgian bread stuffed with cheese and topped with an egg. Sprinkle over Garlic and Herb Mushrooms at the end of cooking to give this dish an Eastern European twist. Give your fall soup a kick and add a teaspoon of Ajika to this Butternut Squash and Apple Soup, or try Roasted Butternut Squash with Cranberries and Apples, spiced up by a teaspoon of Ajika. Toss vegetables with Ajika and grill for Grilled Vegetable Pasta. Rub over Slow-Cooker Pulled Pork for a fresh new flavor for a classic dish.
It’s delicious over pizza, mashed into the top of sweet potatoes, blended into compound butter with a drizzle of maple syrup, or stirred into dressings. Pair with cheeses, dairy, chicken, pork, seafood, grilled or roasted vegetables, and rich corn dishes, like polenta, grits, or chowder.
