Bourbon Maple Turkey Club Sandwich
Triple decker sandwiches are a cultural phenomenon. The interplay of multiple meats, a bit of seasoned mayo, some crunchy veggies, and the warm, earthy comfort of toast takes a basic food technique--meat + bread--and turns it into a creative, playful, humorously messy art piece that lets you showcase your favorite flavors or textures. If you're really feeling bold slide some cheese on there, though that is entirely optional.
This recipe puts our Maple Bourbon Seasoning in the spotlight. Soulful and sweet, we envisioned this blend as a perfect accompaniment for chicken or turkey. It plays into turkey's wilder flavor, and when it's baked onto bacon, creates a symphony of smoky, sweet flavors with extra crunch.
- 2 Tablespoons + 1 teaspoon Maple Bourbon Seasoning, divided
- 8 slices of turkey bacon or regular bacon
- 4 Tablespoons mayonnaise
- 12 slices bread of choice
- 8 leaves of lettuce (we used green leaf, but Bibb is recommended as well)
- 2 pounds turkey breast, roasted and sliced
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Coat bacon slices in 2 Tablespoons Maple Bourbon Seasoning and lay on a baking sheet. You can spritz with baking spray if desired. Place in the hot oven and bake for 20 minutes, flipping once, or until crispy.
- Mix 4 Tablespoons of mayonnaise with remaining 1 teaspoon of Maple Bourbon Seasoning and set aside. Toast bread to desired darkness.
- Spread mayonnaise on bread slices.
- Place lettuce down, then 2 ounces of turkey breast followed by tomato and bacon on 2 slices of bread. Leave the third empty, as it will go in the middle.
- Place the slice of bread with mayonnaise on top of one of the slices with the turkey on it.
- Carefully place the other loaded slice on top of those.
- Place picks in each half of the sandwich and slice carefully.
- Serve and enjoy!
