Chipotle Ranch Dressing

If you want to spice up America’s favorite condiment, then we’ve got the answer for you. This creamy dressing has just enough heat and smoke to create a playful balance between ranch dressing’s signature herbaceousness and a bit of chipotle heat.
This recipe calls for 1/2 cup of buttermilk. If you want to make your own buttermilk, it’s easy. Juice one lemon and mix the juice into one cup of milk. Within a few minutes—moments, even—the milk should start to thicken and slightly curdle, and develop an acidic tang. That’s all you need to do. Use as directed.
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 Tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Chipotle Ranch Seasoning
1 to 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice, to taste
1/4 teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Whisk thoroughly to combine.
2. Taste, and add more buttermilk, lemon juice, or salt as needed to alter consistency, tang, or overall flavor.
3. While this dressing is ready to eat right away, it tastes better after being allowed to sit for at least 10 minutes in the refrigerator. Makes about one cup (8 servings) of dressing, which lasts for up to one week in the refrigerator.
