Maple Orange Glaze

Maple Orange Glaze
Maple Orange Glaze

Simple, delicious, and well-balanced, this Maple Orange Glaze adds rich dimension to meals. All you need to do for this recipe is blend almost all of the ingredients together, let it cook and reduce to half its original volume, which should take about 10 minutes. Add some herbs right at the end and voila! It’s done.

We love Maple Orange Glaze over Grilled Montreal Chicken but it would be a great topper for chicken wings or pork chops. Mix it with some olive oil for a sturdy salad dressing, or drizzle on spinach wilted with garlic oil or toss over roasted beets.

Prep Time: 2 min.
Cooking Time: 10 min.
Servings: 8-10
Cooking Method: Stovetop
Category: Sauces
Cuisine: American
Ingredients:

1/3 cup maple syrup

1/3 cup orange juice

½ teaspoon Dried Orange Peel

½ teaspoon Kosher Salt

¼ teaspoon Black Pepper Medium Grind

2 Tablespoons dark balsamic vinegar

1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Dried Basil

Instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients except Dried Basil in a small saucepan.

2. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to medium-high and let sauce reduce. It should cook at a steady roll without becoming foamy. Stir regularly to make sure it isn’t sticking to the pan and to test for thickness.

3. You can check if glaze is thick enough by using the “spoon test”. Dip the bottom of a tablespoon in the glaze. Pull the spoon out of the glaze and run your finger across the back of the spoon. If your finger draws a clean line through the glaze and it doesn’t run back together, the glaze is thick and ready to come off the heat.

4. Once glaze is ready, stir in Dried Basil.

5. Drizzle over your preferred foods once it is ready.
