Tahini Sauce
Tahini is a creamy paste made from ground sesame seeds and is a staple ingredient in Mediterranean and Middle East cuisines. Tahini has a nutty flavor and can be used as the base for many sauces and dressings and is a main ingredient in hummus.
We use fresh-made tahini as the base in our Tahini Sauce. Our Tahini Sauce elevates the nuttiness of the tahini with bright lemon, intense garlic, and warm Cumin. Use this sauce on Falafel, Falafel Sandwiches, in hummus, as a dipping sauce for vegetables, or drizzle it on grilled meats.

- 2 cups White Sesame Seeds
- 2 Tablespoons peanut oil
- Water as needed
- 6 peeled garlic cloves, roughly chopped
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 2 teaspoons Fine Sea Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin
Instructions:
- Gently toast White Sesame Seeds in a skillet over medium-low heat. Stir the seeds frequently as they cook making sure not to burn. The process should take roughly 10 minutes.
- Allow the White Sesame Seeds to cool and then grind in a food processor for 30 seconds.
- Slowly drizzle in peanut oil and continue processing for 30 seconds. Add 2 Tablespoons of water and process again for 30 seconds. The mixture will still be quite thick.
- Add the remaining ingredients and puree until it becomes a smooth and silky sauce (it may take a minute or two). If the sauce is too thick then add a little more water until it reaches the consistency you prefer.
