Italian Seasoning
Italian Seasoning
Italian Seasoning is also referred to as Italian herbs, Italian mixed herbs, or Italian seasoning herbs.
This Italian Seasoning blend is one of our best-selling herb seasonings, but it is not a “traditional” seasoning blend from Italy. Italian cooking is characterized by regionality; food preferences in northern Milan are not the same as those in sunny southern Naples.
Furthermore, every nonna (grandmother) has a personalized blend of local herbs and spices that defines her household and her food, making it difficult to replicate a traditional blend since they are so highly individualized. Our Italian Seasoning captures the essence of the best herbs that Italy has to offer for those of us who are not lucky enough to have a nonna of our own.
Flavor Profile
Bold with a piney upfront flavor with slightly bitter notes.
How to Use
This fragrant seasoning blend is a beautiful addition to vinegar & oil for a quick salad dressing. Add it to just about any tomato-based dish, from lasagna to spaghetti to pizza; the balance of herbs rounds out the sharp acidity of tomatoes. Give a bold, rich flavor to marinades and soups. Blend Italian Seasoning with olive oil as a coating for your roast chicken, or toss over vegetables like eggplant, potatoes, or zucchini.
